Plow side plate 3401900
Resisting Lateral Pressure: During tillage, the soil exerts a lateral force on the plow's slope, pushing it toward the uncultivated ground. The plow's side plates, pressed tightly against the furrow wall, counteract this lateral pressure with their larger contact surface, ensuring the plow's lateral stability and preventing it from tilting.
Supporting the Plow: Together with the plowshare and plowboard, they form a complete curved surface and bear part of the plow's weight.
Maintaining a Stable Tilling Width: Ensures the plow maintains a stable tilling width during operation, preventing missed or double tillage.
Material: Typically made of high-strength, wear-resistant steel or alloy steel. Some high-end products may feature a tungsten carbide rim or a spray-on wear-resistant coating to significantly extend service life in harsh soil conditions.
Craftsmanship: Precision casting, forging, or stamping are used, followed by heat treatment (such as quenching and tempering) to achieve an optimal balance of hardness and toughness, ensuring both wear resistance and impact resistance.
